DFRobot has launched the Maqueen Plus V3, a high-tech educational robot made for STEM learning and competitions in elementary and middle schools. To make robotics education more interesting and successful, it mixes accurate sensors, smart algorithms, and sturdy hardware.
Important characteristics are a matrix laser ranging sensor for accurate distance and obstacle detection, motor encoders with PID control for exact motion, and integrated algorithms for line-tracking and intersection recognition, which help to streamline difficult navigation chores. It even comes with dual light sensors, customizable RGB headlights and ambient lights, and a detachable metal motor with voltage stabilisation for consistent performance and simple servicing.

Wide software support of the Maqueen Plus V3 makes it available for novices and advanced users alike. With MakeCode, Mind+, or the Arduino IDE, it can be programmed, therefore offering students and instructors flexibility in coding. It works with micro:bit and Arduino platforms. Its built-in line-tracking and intersection identification algorithms run independently of the main controller, therefore releasing resources for other duties. For sensor data access and control, the robot also supports I2C, UART, and USB communication; firmware upgrades through USB guarantee long-term usefulness and feature updates.
